Laughing it off

Here’s Laura Main cracking up. Like this earlier photo it’s a fine line between keeping us both engaged in the photos and just laughing at each other.

Laura Main, she’s really hard

Laura Main is a tough cookie. Here she is with the graffiti I posted earlier in the month.

I like how the warning sign, the barb wire around the neck and the feel of the rust add to her expression.

Just missed it

I love the eyes in this photo, it’s such a shame I just missed the right moment. If the photo was a few moments earlier I would have been happy with it.

I like to talk with the person I’m photographing to keep them engaged, but here while Laura’s engaged with the camera, I’ve caught her as she’s speaking. The moment I prefer is just before they say the person speaks. As they’re working out what they’re going to say.

Saying rude things to Laura

While I’m taking photos I really want to keep the person engaged. One of the ways is swearing.

Sometimes it works sometimes the photo which comes out isn’t useable as a headshot. I love this photo of Laura, it can’t be used for anything but I love the moment it captures as she considers if she can say something awful.

Laura Main

The actress Laura Main was kind enough to let me take some photos of her. I’m still trying out actors head shots, mainly by friends letting me take their photos.

I’m shooting the majority on digital, but then shooting a roll of film or two afterwards. I tend to always prefer the film photos I take, I guess I should trust it a bit more. But a voice at the back of my head says ”no take digital”.

This photo is along way from a perfect headshot but I really like it. I mean the framing is off, and I’m not happy with the darkness on the side of Laura’s face. But I do like it.
